Fall at Martell Forest

Tuesday Sept. 29

On Tuesday of this week,  I was in the Purdue Wildlife Aera (PWA) field doing Search and Rescue with William for his dissertation. We did 3 flights in the 3 hour time period. Between the second and third flight Tristen of group 3 and Jeff of my group 1 were reallocated to Martell to teach the sensor operator side of flight operations to groups 2 and group 4. After our flights, at 1:00pm, we came back to the airport and unloaded. 

Friday Oct. 2 

My next flight was not until Friday. for that day I was again at PWA with William for simulated search and rescue flights. We had a volunteer from 209. They have consistently been on our flights and because they just passed their checkout on the Mavic 2 Pro, I had them fly. The drone is our primary vehicle for the operation. We only managed to attempt one flight before being recalled to the airport.
